CEO Roadshow
CEO Michael Sylvester recently presented all staff with a business update in both our Launceston and Hobart laundries. With finals looming, a footy analogy was perfect for this crowd of football fans. Michael told Team Blueline, “We’ve come off the bottom of the ladder….”
International Linen & Uniform Service Day
During the pandemic, the linen and uniform industry was officially declared an "Essential Service" as workers put it all on the line to provide critical supplies to hospitals. That's why August 9th is International Linen & Uniform Service Day, celebrating the people who have dedicated themselves to providing clean linens, towels, and uniforms to businesses each and every week.
A National Platform for Blueline Laundry
Following a visit and tour of Blueline Launceston, our House of Representatives Member for Bass, MP Bridget Archer, addressed Australian Parliament in Federation Chamber on 24 June 2021. Disability Workers Essential Role in COVID-19 Prevention
5 Tasmanians with a disability able to continue their work on an essential product that helps prevent the community transmission of COVID-19.
This experienced team were sewing Alginate Bags at Oak Possibilities Mail Room prior to moving to Blueline Laundry in July 2020. Since then, they have soared to new heights, increasing their productivity and expanding their sewing skills to new projects.

Blueline Laundry has been chosen to be one of TasNetworks’ Resilient Communities Grant recipients. This support will be used to develop and implement a new online Learning Management System.
Excellence Award Win

A moment to remember
Since 1893, many events have changed the business, and Blueline has responded and adapted. A major milestone in living memory is the boiler explosion at Mount St. Canice in 1974 that killed eight people. This week, 5th September marks the anniversary of this tragedy.
Visit from Elise Archer MP
Elise Archer MP toured the Hobart operations today with Blueline CEO Michael Sylvester. While Michael explained how the laundry works and introduced Elise to some of our Blueline team members, he also explained to her some of the challenges Blueline has faced during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Seifollah’s Story
Blueline is Seifollah’s first job in Australia, and in his words, maybe his last. From a refugee history, Seifollah and his family recently became naturalised Australians at a ceremony in Launceston.
