Award Winning Response to COVID-19
Blueline Laundry has won the award for “Excellence in a workplace response to COVID-19 in large business” at the 2021 Worksafe Tasmania Awards.
Blueline’s COVID-19 response included:
building on existing high standards and methods of infection control for laundering hospital and hospitality sectors linens.
advising and contributing to the state’s infection control standards.
supporting its vulnerable workers to ensure they remained meaningfully connected and employed despite the company’s reduced commercial workload.
In this category there were 29 applications including other high profile Tasmanian businesses such as MONA, Grange Resources Limited, Housing Industry Tasmania, Incat Tasmania, MedHealth Pty Ltd, Launceston City Council, Statewide Independent Wholesalers Limited, Tasmanian Railway Pty Ltd, University of Tasmania, Wrest Point Hotel Casino and many others.
Elise Archer, Attorney General and Minister for Workplace Safety and Consumer Affairs presented each of the awards, with Rachel Williams and Rick Fontyn as the MC’s for the gala dinner at the Grand Chancellor Hobart.
It was an honour to receive recognition in this important category, and to receive positive feedback from many people, including Elise Archer and our fellow nominees.
