Ramila’s Story

This is Ramila, who has been part of the Blueline Laundry team for 24 years. Ramila says the things she enjoys about working at Blueline are meeting different people, and knowing what skills she can do.

Ramila joined Blueline straight after college, and since then has kept learning and worked her way up through the ranks. She has gained skills across the whole range of tasks that are part of the laundry process, and has experience working every machine.

Ramila is particularly proud of her work in the Greens Room, which is where she prepares the sterile surgical linens for medical centres and hospitals. This role requires high attention to detail as Ramila is personally responsible for the hygiene standards of every pack. She oversees the process from beginning to end, even going with the delivery driver on the truck to unpack the linen at the hospital.

A well regarded team member, Ramila represents her colleagues on the Staff Advisory Committee, and is one of the go-to people to help out other staff when they are away sick or on holiday. And that’s why she has achieved a pay increase every year.
