Supported Employment

HOW DO I KNOW IF I AM QUALIFIED FOR SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT?

Blueline Laundry provides employment opportunities for NDIS participants with intellectual, cognitive or developmental disabilities . To be successful in obtaining supported employment at Blueline Laundry, applicants need to:

  • Require on the job training and support

  • Must be of legal age and an Australian citizen for employment

  • Be keen to enter the employment environment

  • Have realistic job choices

  • Qualify for the NDIS

Prospective employees are encouraged to have an advocate present during the interview procedure.


DO I HAVE TO HAVE EXPERIENCE TO WORK AT BLUELINE LAUNDRY?

No, Blueline Laundry employs people with disabilities who have worked before and those who have not as well. 


THERE ARE SOME JOBS THAT I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO DO WITH MY DISABILITY, DOES THAT MATTER?

Blueline Laundry will meet you and assess what you can do, teach you how to do the job and provide help to do the job as well.


HOW MUCH WILL I BE PAID TO WORK AT THE BLUELINE LAUNDRY?

As an Australian Disability Enterprise you will receive an award based wage. When you start a wage assessment will be done to advise how much you will be paid.


WHAT ELSE CAN I EXPECT WHEN WORKING AT BLUELINE LAUNDRY?

Working at Blueline will be real work. You will receive training, you will be paid a wage, you will learn new skills. You'll also make new friends and enjoy social activities within the community.

ARE THERE SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS TO WORK AT BLUELINE LAUNDRY?

Because Blueline Laundry is an NDIS registered employer of people with a disability, all applicants must:

  • Have or be able to obtain a Working with Vulnerable People Registration. More information

  • Be fully vaccinated for COVID-19


DO YOU OFFER EMPLOYMENT HELP FOR MIGRANTS AND REFUGEES?

Yes! We partner with Safe Haven Hub in Hobart and Launceston. Safe Haven Hub can assist you with everything you need to prepare to work at Blueline Laundry, including:

  • Career Advice and Planning

  • Understanding the Australian Workplace

  • Writing resumes and applications

  • Preparing for interviews

  • Ongoing support in the workplace

  • Free

  • available if you are already working

  • available are unemployed and looking for work

  • currently studying or need advice about what to do next​

  • For adults from a multicultural background, who have arrived in Australia within the last five years, and have basic English.
