We have employees who not only operate the laundry but many are also mentors; training and supporting people with a disability within the workforce and community.
Our Supported Employee Program ADE (Australian Disability Enterprise) and the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) empowers our team members with disability, offering opportunities which may have previously proven inaccessible.
If you have a disability and are looking for a job, Blueline Laundry can help you to contribute your skills and abilities as part of the workforce while having the support you need.
Since its establishment in 1893 by the Sisters of The Good Shepherd, Blueline Laundry has been providing employment and training for people who have been disadvantaged in the community. Since its establishment Blueline Laundry has provided employment and training support for people with a disability via its supported work program in both Hobart and Launceston.
The NDIS is a new way of providing individualised support for eligible people with permanent and significant disability, their families and carers. The NDIS is the insurance that gives us all peace of mind. Disability could affect anyone - having the right support makes a big difference. Our Management team and Board members are very qualified and competent to lead the laundry as a social enterprise business.
Blueline Laundry is committed to providing all staff with the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications. Training and skills development is considered critical for our staff to achieve their full potential.
With training, we encourage supported employees to increase their skills, which may lead to an increase in wages or the ability to progress to open employment.
